SenderCAN PLUS is a user configurable I/O Module Part Number 78700683 and is designed to convert up to four switch, resistive, voltage, or current inputs into J1939 parameters that are broadcast on a CAN network which can then be used by any J1939 compliant device. Two outputs are available that can be controlled by a J1939 CAN message or driven by internally generated alarms. A separate dedicated input is available to convert a frequency signal into Engine Speed or Vehicle Speed.
A free simple to use Configuration Tool allows the developer to select all the input/output settings for their custom application. A complete J1939 library is included with the ability to create custom J1939 messages.
Two Factory Pre-Configured models are available FuelCAN PLUS P/N 78700694 (replaces E2502000A) and MeCAN PLUS 78700695 (replaces E2501300B) . The firmware for these is available below and can be loaded on the standard SenderCAN PLUS module. These have the same functionality as their predecessors.
- Programming Hardware Required - E-Com USB/CAN Adapter Cable or Programming kit p/n 78700691.
- Review the analog input/output specifications to verify signal range and scaling meet the application requirements.
- Review the specification drawing 78020135 for wiring connections.
- Install the Configuration Tool
- Install the E-Com cable driver
- Connect the E-Com cable to the CAN inputs and provide power to the module
- Create the configuration - follow along with the training tutorial
- Program the SenderCAN PLUS - see tutorials
- Test the configuration in the application
- Verify LED Lamp Codes
- SenderCAN PLUS Specification Drawing.
- MeCAN Drawing - See MeCAN PLUS Page
