Recommended Replacement - The uControl Family of mobile controllers is the recommended path to replace the DVC series which are no longer available due to parts obsolescence. The DVC uses custom application code created by each OEM which must be replicated by a developer to perform the same functions in the uControl mobile controller. The DVC80 (J1939 Bridge) is a unique CAN Bus gateway. The DVC80 is designed for a range of applications, including but not limited to agriculture, construction, forestry, mining, material handling, refuse and transportation. This module was built to serve as a data link between DVC Control System and J1939 CAN Bus systems. It uses the DVC CAN Bus protocol and SAE J1939 standard protocol to receive, filter and re-transmit messages. The data gathered in these messages can then be incorporated into the DVC control system, allowing for a proactive system control approach as well as the typical reactive system control approach. An RS-232 interface allows for connection to on-board computers or laptops. This port is used for setup, real-time diagnostics and data logging. A +5Vdc reference is available for supplying power to external sensors.
