1. Connect the Oil Pressure Sending unit terminals together with a jumper wire. See illustration below. (If using a one wire sender, connect the terminal to ground, or to engine frame.)
2. Turn on the Key Switch. The EGS21P Oil Pressure SWICHGAGE® should go full scale.
3. Reset the Shutdown Relay. The relay should stay reset, and the red reset button should stay in.
NOTE: If the Shutdown Relay does NOT reset, disconnect the Electrical Plug from the rear of the EGS21T Temperature SWICHGAGE® and try again. If the Shutdown Relay will not reset, disconnect the EGS21P Oil Pressure SWICHGAGE®. The Shutdown Relay should now reset. If it did, replace the EGS21P Oil Pressure SWICHGAGE®. Reconnect the Electrical Plug to the rear of the EGS21T Coolant Temperature SWICHGAGE®. If this causes the Shutdown Relay to trip -- red button pops out--replace the EGS21T Coolant Temperature SWICHGAGE®.
4. Temporarily remove the jumper wire from the EGS21P Oil Pressure Sending unit terminals. The Oil Pressure Gage should go to zero, and trip the Shutdown Relay -- red button pops out. Reconnect the jumper to the Oil Pressure Sending unit terminals.
NOTE: If the EGS21P Oil Pressure SWICHGAGE® does not trip the Shutdown Relay, replace the EGS21P Oil Pressure SWICHGAGE®, and repeat steps 2, 3 and 4.
5. Reset the Shutdown Relay. The Relay should stay reset, and the red reset button should stay in.
6. Temporarily jumper the Coolant Temperature Sending unit terminals together (short) with a piece of wire. See illustration below. (If one wire sender, short the terminal to ground or engine frame.) The EGS21T Coolant Temperature SWICHGAGE® should go full scale, and trip the Shutdown Relay -- red button pops out.
NOTE: If the EGS21T Coolant Temperature SWICHGAGE® does not trip the Shutdown Relay, replace the EGS21T Coolant Temperature SWICHGAGE®, and repeat steps 5 and 6.
7. Remove the jumper wire from the Oil Pressure Sending unit. Test is complete.
