The following information applies only to iMX35 based displays like the PV450, PV480/485, and the PV780. For information on how this works on the M2 processor based displays see the Bootloader Animation article.
This example explains the difference between the Configuration Logo (Boot Logo) that is displayed during the first part of the boot up sequence and the logo (Splash Screen) that is displayed from the overlay layer once the system is fully booted. In this example a timer and Animation are used to slowly fade the logo.

This configuration was created in version 2.9.23044 for a PV780. The same technique is used on all the color displays.
