Multiple TSC1 messages and TSC1 checksum
Hello,
we are using an FPT N67ENT Tier 4B engine which unfortunately requires receiving the TSC1 message from several devices rather than just the body computer as we did with its Tier 3 predecessor. We plan to use TSC1-VE for speed control but also TSC1-PE and TSC1-TE must be sent anyway even if in passive mode (i.e. not setting rpm or torque) on longer cycle up to 200 ms instead of the 20 ms for the active-mode TSC1-VE. We have read somewhere that rel.2.9 of Powervision mono (we use a PV 380 display) should allow sending multiple TSC1 messages but haven't found a way to create multiple instances of the TSC1 built-in application. By the way, this last one is totally undocumented, we need to know how to use the SPN 4206 Message Counter and SPN 4207 Message Checksum which are required by our engine. How do they work ? We see that default vaules is dec. 15 for both, if leaving those values empty, are these varible calculated automatically by the TSC1 application or do we need to calculate and store them ? In the last case, there is the risk of sending wrong vaules due to the high update rate of TSC1 in the background. Thank you.

Hi, we had a similar job last year, the spec does say that the checksum and counter SHOULD allow the backwards comaptible FF value and work.... but if you have some ECUs that wont, they you are stuck until.....
I've actually submitted a feature request to have this exact feature as a selectable option in powervision :)

Many thanks,
I shall try with counter and checksum disabled and set to 0xF, then if not working I am going to send TSC1 packets using free form messages. By the way, the TSC1 app control is not working at all in PV 2.0 for monochrome displays, so I reverted back to PV 2.8 patch 4 for which it is working even if apparently the checksum seems to be calculated wrongly, I need to do further testing.
Kind Regards
