Snapshot Logger data

HI, we have been using the 'standard' data logger for some weeks now and have this working nicely for developing the program we are working on. We now want to save certain variables that are shown on the screen only when a certain event is fires (e.g. a button that fires an event)

 

We have the new 'snapshot' logger defined, and the 7 variables we want it to capture selected.

We have events that start and stop the logger, then a button that fires the export for logger to usb.

The file is saved to USB ok, and contains the selected variable names, but none of them list any data underneath...

we have the logger configured like this: ( with 7 variables)

 

What have we missed?

  Hi Dave,

  I tried the Snapshot logger and the way to do it is to do the Start action and then do the Stores when you want them before doing the Stop action.  If a Start and Stop is done then the Store will only have the column headings.

  ah,  ok makes sense,  perhaps that needs adding to the user guide as a tip?

   

  I'll redo my state machine so that they are fired in this order.

  is there an option to have a 'new' file when it exports the snapshot, so as not to overwrite the existing file( if it exists) , like the standard logger can do?

  Hi Dave,

  Sadly, the OutputNewFile was not put in the snapshot logger.  That would be a good feature request.
