PV780 voltage limits on inputs

    Hi Justin,

Here's the answer from the developer:

The digital inputs are designed to tolerate high voltage, they do not feedback any voltage to the internal display power rails.

The analog inputs are not designed to tolerate more than 5VDC, even if set as digital inputs.  Also, I don’t advise to add any serial resistor in series to limit the current, any voltage transitions will bypass the display power protections and it could result in permanent damage.

    Hi Boyce,

Is this for the whole display lineup? I'm working on a PV380 r2 at the moment and was wondering if the 5VDC limit is also applicable to those analog inputs.

    Hi,

Is there any update on this? I am working on a customers setup that uses a 1k resistor in conjunction with 12 VDC on an analog input of a MPC20 r2.

Will this be a problem as well?

    Hi Mario,

Yes, it is the same for all displays.  The displays use the same basic circuitry for the IO.  Some of the OEM displays (PV485) have some small differences in components but the design rating is the same.

Sorry for the delay.  I replied before and I thought the system would post my response here but it didn't.

    Thank you,

    Boyce

    Hi All ,

I hope you are doing well. I have a question , How can i use digital input pin in PV780  to control an indication when i have ground on the pin ? I have a pic on the screen that colored red when the pin read ground and white when the pin is floating . So, how can i configure it using power vision SW ?
    Thank  you
