Bluetooth Extension 5.17.1
Bluetooth Extension 5.17.1
Bug Fixes
5.17.1 is a patch release on the 5.17 line. It fixes a customer-reported problem where phones that ask for a passkey (typical of Android phones pairing over BLE) could not pair. It also fixes AudioSink media controls after pairing from the phone. This patch comes from issues found after release; the 5.x feature line still ends with 5.17, and new features ship in 6.0.
- Passkey entry pairing — when a phone chooses passkey entry, the display now shows the 6-digit passkey for the user to type on the phone, instead of the pairing failing; applies to both BLE and Bluetooth Classic. Pairing requests and notifications gain a DisplayOnly flag, so apps can show the passkey without Accept/Reject buttons. BLE also gains a PairingComplete notification.
- AudioSink media controls after phone pairing — Play/Pause/Next and track info now work when the phone presents its media player before its audio stream, which is common when pairing is started from the phone.
- Demo fonts — the Bluetooth Classic and BLE demo apps now ship their own font, so their text renders the same on every platform.
