Can't see objects in Overlay Layer

Hello, 

I am unable to see widgets in the overlay layer and popup layer. To be specific : I added a text widget and rectangle widget onto the overlay layer, and I can confirm that they are there, but I can't see the text in the widget. Same for the pop up layer.
