Overview: This guide is an outline of the critical steps in setting up OpenPV Toolkit on a development computer and flashing/prepping a display. Download and Install the OpenPV Developer Toolkit for Windows:
➤ Install the downloaded program (OpenPV.Installer.msi)
Download Components & Install the STM Firmware Flashing Utility:
➤ Start the OpenPV Developer Toolkit.
➤ Verify the version shown in the top bar of the window is 1.251 or newer.
➤ Click on the desired development Path in the left column.
➤ Click the Setup Profile button in the Actions pane on right to download the necessary components.
➤ Repeat the previous two steps for additional development paths desired.
➤ Allow The STM32Cube Programmer to install.
➤ Close and restart the OpenPV Developer Toolkit before continuing.
Verify an Active Connection
➤ Verify the display is functional. (Power on and make sure the logo or installer screen appears.)
➤ Verify connection between Dev computer and Display (Listen for USB connect tone.)
Boot Display Into DFU Flash Mode
➤ Remove power from the display.
➤ Place small high-powered magnet on the triangle/circle icon on the back of the display.
➤ Supply power to the display while keeping the magnet in place.
Install Firmware on Display
➤ Start the OpenPV Developer Toolkit.
➤ Click the Displays button in the Main Toolbar.
➤ Click the Flash Distribution button in the Actions side panel.
➤ Verify “Image Installed and device ready for Prep” is shown at the end of the Console journal.
Exit DFU Flash Mode
Install Platform Support Files to the Display ('Prep')
➤ Verify the correct model of display ("Platform Family") is selected. <-- This is critical in Prep.
➤ Click the Prep Display button in the Actions side panel.
The display should now be ready to Load a Demo Project by clicking the New button in the far left of the Main Toolbar.
